The writers/editors' inability to get together on one side and drive the character is why things have gotten so confusing about Batman.
Btw, (and maybe things could be different) but I think that sooner or later, i.e. once Morrison and Dini are gone, even the core Bat-books will return to the same side as the team-titles. For one, I don't any one following (or even tryin to) go along the same direction as Morrison. Sooner or later, whenever he leaves the title, things will snap back to usual/Pre-Morrison depiction sooner than...well, sooner than how Post-IC *brighter* Batman got nixed.
