"A familiar source known collectively as "New York comics industry employees talking in bars" tells me that the last issue of "Final Crisis" is further delayed as it is suffering from serious rewrites. It appears that DC Executive Editor Dan DiDio was unhappy with the way the story concluded and the implications for the DC Universe for a while and had ordered changes from a, naturally, rather unhappy Grant Morrison. Considering this is the way he wrote the pitch for the book.
As a result, creative teams working on a number of spinoff and affected books have also had to stop work while the “Final Crisis” ending is reworked.
Expect more lateness, more annoyance and less likelihood of Grant Morrison doing DCU work in the near future. "
There is a Newsarama thread regarding this...here...and somehow Geoff Johns' name too got included in the mix of (possible) DC departees.
Well, here're my views (a post in that thread) on this rumour...
****************************************************************
(IF) it does turn out to be true...
Morrison: YAY!! Not only will he off Batman (and away from the Bat-verse), it would also increase the chances of his DC 'changes' too getting flushed down the proverbial crapper. Oh, who am I kidding, those changes are gonna go sooner or later, Morrison's leaving (now) will only hasten them further.
Robinson: Even though 'm not gonna get that second JLA title, (it has everything to do with the characters in it and nothing with the writer), and 'm not pulling Superman anymore, (which, once again, has nothing to do with the writer, more to do with the 'event' and the writer of the other big Superman title) I will feel sorry/saddened by it...in the same way as I felt on Didio's Chuck Dixon fvckup!!
And if...it also leads to Geoff Johns' departure from DC...well, in that case the weekend (nearest) to when it does happen...I will drink enough to give myself a CELEBRATORY hangover!!
